Mirror - The Mysterious Secret Relationship With 'Other-Worldly' - Part One

An unusual event happened in France in 1997. It might be understandable if something like this happened five hundred years ago, at the time of the fiercest fighting against witches, but the story takes place in the 20th century, known as the most rational of all, century of scientific view of the world.

The French Association of antiques dealer turned to reporters wanting to warn the collectors not to buy a mirror with the inscription 'Louis Arpo 1743' on the frame. They said that this mirror killed more than 38 people during its existence, and that they felt duty to warn the possible future owner of the danger he was in.

The mirror - 'killer'

This association has decided to address the media when it was discovered that the mirror is missing from police depots which stored since 1910 after it caused the death of two people.

Someone has secretly entered the store and took several items, including this mirror “killer”. The secretary of the association explained that this mirror is known for having caused bleeding in the brain in people who are looking at it!

Some have tried to scientifically explain this phenomenon, but a large number of people still believe that there is something unusual and unique and that mirrors are not only harmless 'things' that you look at when you want to check or fix the hairstyle or makeup. Using mirrors (and all other smooth surfaces that have the ability to reflect light) in magical purposes and divination, has almost as much as the human race exists in all ages and cultures.

A large number of folk customs and so-called superstitions relating to mirrors and the fortune or misfortune that it can bring, says that it occupied a special place in the collective consciousness of humanity.

Portals for entry into another dimension

The power of mirrors to reveal what is hidden is known since ancient times. “Looking in the mirror” for divination was used by the ancient Egyptians, Arabs, Persians, Greeks and Romans.

Johannes Hartlieb, the doctor of several Bavarian kings, claimed that there are people who are able to 'prepare' the mirror so that anyone who looked at him gets the answer to its question.

According to the folk beliefs, mirrors were attributed to both positive and negative power. It was believed that they are able to steal the soul of man, and one of the most widespread custom is that in case of a death in the house all mirrors should be covered that would not have happened to the soul of the deceased to saw himself and thus remain trapped between two worlds.

Also, crushed mirror is a bad omen and brings seven years of bad luck, but even more dangerous is reflected in it at night by the light of candles, because then the spirits from another world can come through it.
