What Happened With Dinosaurs?

They were the undisputed masters of our planet over 150 million years, and it seemed that it seemed it would remain so forever. And then, they suddenly disappeared, as if they never existed. Behind them, there are remained only fossils and eternal question of why they became extinct? There are many theories that attempt to explain this mystery of the disappearance of the dinosaurs and other creatures from prehistoric times to the face of the Earth about 65 million years ago. Here we try to present some of the most probable theories, but neither of these theories cannot be accepted as irreversible and definitive scientific truth.

Climate Change

Maybe dinosaurs were simply not able to adapt to climate change, but the change did not happen suddenly. Dinosaurs lived in the forests and savannas that were held later, in the era of mammals, and we cannot see any drastic changes that would cause the extinction of the dinosaurs. Moreover, crocodiles, which are valid for close relatives of dinosaurs, have experienced the Cenozoic era and became companions of people in the world today. One possibility is that climate change, whether it was the heat or cold, affected the reproductive cycles of dinosaurs and so led to their extinction. But the testimony of fossil plants do not indicate that so extreme climate changes ever occurred. This is a reason why even the greatest scientists cannot understand what really with these giant creatures.

Dependence Of Gender on External Temperature

Studies of American alligators in the field and laboratory showed that the gender of these reptiles is determined by the temperature at which eggs are incubated. If the temperature in the nest is below 28 degrees Celsius females will born, and if it is above 36 degrees Celsius, it will be males. And studies of incubating turtles have shown similar results. Maybe climate change affected on the gender of the dinosaurs population in a way of gender ratio? To answer this question, again, is the problem of other reptiles. If it came to such a change in temperature, why it did not affect the crocodiles and turtles?

Too Big?

The idea that dinosaurs went extinct because of its size cannot be true because not all dinosaurs were gigantic.

Death Because of Hunger

Dinosaurs became extinct because they could not adjust to the plant life that existed, and that their extinction occurred because of the extinction of carnivorous dinosaurs that have fed with them.

Eggs incompetent

It was observed that the shell eggs of one species of dinosaurs that have been found in southern France were unusually thin. Based on this theory, maybe dinosaurs were no longer able to reproduce.

An asteroid collision with the Earth

One of the new and perhaps the most elaborate alien theory talks about the collision of Earth with a giant meteorite or some asteroid with a diameter of about 10-20 kilometers. It is believed that during the collision of a giant meteorite with the Earth was released a huge amount of dust that was cast into the atmosphere, which caused the extinction of most part of terrestrial plant life, whose survival depends on photosynthesis. Of course, the disappearance of plants has led to the disappearance of herbivorous dinosaurs, and this entailed the disappearance of the dinosaurs carnivores.
