About the MK Ultra Project
I do not know why people get surprised over and over again when they heard that U.S. government, which is considered as one of the most liberal in the world, can be involved in spying their own citizens. This was a result of the latest affair about phone and the Internet hacking that was reviled by ex- government worker Snowden. I’m not surprised; not at all.
Poisoning
I’m not surprised simply because of the fact that is not the first time it happened. Uncle Sam did it also in the past. He spied people without permission and any legal foundation. This latest affair was not the first and will not be the last, that is for sure. It is also not nastiest thing that government did to its citizens. Just think about the horrible poisoning certain alcohol supply, despite of the fact they agents form the state institutions knew that people would drink that supply. The worst thing about it is that more than 10.000 people died because of the poison.
Something similar was happening in the period from 1953 to 196; the brutal and horrible experiment that was conducted under the knowledge of the CIA. It was famous MKUltra project, which all was about the manipulation over the people’s lives. CIA deliberately was exposed people to the various biological and chemical agents without their knowledge, of course. In some stages of the project, CIA was using hallucinogenic drugs, especially LSD.
Public Hearing
As you can guess, we do not have enough documents about this project. The same situation is with people who were willing to speak about it. However, the public finally got the chance to learn something about the experiment because of the investigation that was conducted by the U.S. Senate. At the same time, this institution organized public hearing about the MKUltra project and some of the statement were published in several different journals. U.S. public was terrified with those documents majority of people simply refused to believe that government was able to do something like that.
Defense
According to the officials, the main purpose of this project was about the defense. Allegedly, the government was scared because of the potential attack of the Soviets and Chinese during the Cold War. The wanted to develop some kind of protection of different poisons and chemicals.
Thanks to all those documents, the public had an opportunity to realize that their government exposed them to the alcohol, hypnosis, drugs, brain washing.. Despite of the fact that a number of people died during the experiment, so as that even more people suffered from uncured symptoms, the CIA refused to stop with project. They continued to test them like animals. And nobody knew what was happening. It all was a part of one of the most bizarre secret project in the history. And the irony is that these horrible experiment was performing in the “freest” county in the world.
After that never was the same. Except government continued to abuse people for various of reasons. And none of them cannot be justified with reason.
