Lost City in the Honduran Rain Forests?
Archaeologists and adventurers around the world are drilled because of new discovery deep in the Honduran rain forest. A team of researchers have recently discovered strange ruins that might be more than 1.000 years old. It would be nothing strange if those ruins are some remains of the ordinary village or facility for the past. No, nothing similar. According to the researchers, it might be a famous and legendary lost city. This is a reason why they all thrilled and excited.
Mystery or Not?
For many people, it was too long waited solution for the ancient mystery of the lost city. Even the famous national Geographic named this story as exclusive news, telling that explorers finally managed to discover ruins of the forgotten city in the jungles in Honduras.
However, this excitation lasted very short. It seems that these ruins are not connected with the “lost city” and that these buildings never have been lost in any way.
This is, in short, the answer of a respectable team of archaeologists, researchers and scientists who reacted on this “big” discovery by signing the public letter. They particularly paid attention on the National Geographic’s story, which, according to the scientists, ignored a number of obvious facts and people who steel live in this part of the Honduras.
National Geographic
Folks form the National Geographic responded quickly, quoting the experts from the research team. They also answered they did not say that scientists have found the true lost city, but only the “possible” city in the same area.
The myth about the lost city has be present in the heads of a number of adventurers and researchers for a long time. In some cultures, it is called the White City, because of the huge wealth of its ancient citizens. One young American adventurer and writer from Massachusetts even stated that he had found it. It was somewhere in 1940. However, we do not have any firm evidences for these statements.
It is interesting that all these investigators never consulted people form this region; they decided to forge their information because of the glory. If they did that, they never called it lost city, because locals knew for it all the time.
Suicide and Legends
Situation changed when one of the so called investigators who also claimed he discovered it killed himself more than decade after “discovery”, the story about the ancient ruins started to fade.
What really happened on this last expedition? It was a team of U.S. and local archaeologists who went to the suspicious site in the heart of the jungle. They had all advanced technology which allowed them to examine the area from the last distance and from air. In one moment, they have discovered at least 50 objects below the ground.
And that was it. The media machinery rolled out and nothing could not stopped it. More experienced researched explained that we have to be rational about it because this reason because we have a dozen of hidden objects in this area and that particular ruins could be anything.
