Mysterious Guidestones from Georgia
Have you ever seen the famous ancient building in the Elbert County in Georgia? It is a massive construction that is approximately six meters tall and that was made from the six huge granite slabs. The formation is also intriguing. We have one big capstone and one in the center. Around the basic structure, we have some kind of the shield that is made from four vertically placed stones. Every single piece is perfectly incorporated into one whole.
Although we do not know much about this strange object and its main purpose, we know that the north and south stones are positioned according to the poles. It is also interesting the design and the position of the central hollow. It is placed in such position that it is lit by the sunlight, no matter of the time of the year. This is a proof the builder knew about the basic knowledge of the astronomy and Earth’s cycles.
This big stone structure weight around 119 tons. This guidestone has a small hole in the center, which is not an “ordinary” hole. Its size is enough for just one person to go inside and watch the North Star.
The more mysterious is a stone tablet that is placed on the ground on the west side of the structure. The surface of this object is fulfilled with some notes and brief information about the history and purpose of the building.
Before we say any detailed information, people are not united about the purpose of this object. Some think it is an ordinary replica of the famous Stonehenge. Those who love mysteries and SF stories assume this could be some kind of the time capsule. The third suggests it could be Rosetta Stone and a portal or even entrance to the unknown civilization.

This strange building is placed on a hill in Georgia’s Elbert County. It is very close to the Highway 77 ant you can notice it from the car. You cannot miss it if you follow signs beside the road.
As we said, you can observe the North Star from the central hole, which indicate that the builders were familiar with the basic knowledge of the astronomy.
The capstone on the tops have calendar of sorts, which is famous because they are positioned at specific angle. Thanks to the position of the capstone and its location with regard to the sun, we can know exactly what is day in the year.
