Non-Mason View On Masonry

The people who belong to the Masons or Freemason as some call this organization, love to say they are present in the human history from the very beginning. This movement initially appeared as a strict group whose members were solely stonemasons. The rules were strict on this and nobody else could be a part of their family. This has changed with the time and Masons have started to accept people of other professions.

World Of Shadows

Officially, their main goal of Masonry is the promotion of the moral standards and the tendency for the better world. Unlike other organizations with similar goals, Masons conduct their activity in silence and away from the public eye. This characteristic is the main reason why people thing Masons are some strange and evil people who want to rule the world. This group is definitely one of the most intrigue and mysteries organizations in the human history. It seems Mason do not mind. Just the opposite. They are trying to stay in the shadow.

It is not easy to become a Mason simply because “candidate” has to be invited by the existing member. You cannot just walk thru the doors and say:” Hi dudes, I am John Smith and I want to hang around with you”. After invention, candidates must pass the initiation or entrance ceremony, also known as Entered Apprentice. There are no strict rules about this and nobody can tell you how it looks like. Every chamber or lodge has their own rules with specific ceremonies and rituals.

Secret Communication

Masons have their own way of the communication that is completely incomprehensible to the others. This is the case with the famous handshaking, which is some kind of the password and sign of the identification. Every lodge has special grip, but they all mean one thing- Masons with handshake want to tell each other that they are together and they belong to the same organization.

People usually ask is Masonry a religion? Well, this is hard to say. If we define religion as a belief in a Supreme Being, than it is a religion. They all believe in God and consider the Bible as Holy book. On the other hand, Masons have only one goal- “building” the better world through good deeds. If we look at that way, this organization is more like a fraternity or, as they like to call it, fraternity within a fraternity.

One word about their secrecy. We said the Masons considered as a most secret society. If we ask some Mason what he thinks about that, he will probably refer us to the Masonic Information Center. There we will get just one answer: If that is true, than the Masonry is the worst- kept secret in the history. And they might be right. Why? Just think for the second. If their existence is secret, how we all know about it. Maybe they opted for the proven strategy: the best way for keeping the secret is to tell everyone about it.
